Oscar Carmona is a Chilean composer and pianist whose current work centers on original piano music shaped by rhythmic pulse, harmonic and cinematic depth, lyrical writing, and a subtle Latin American memory. His background includes classical, contemporary, and electronic music studies in Chile and France. His works for orchestra and ensembles have been premiered in Japan and several European countries, alongside projects involving electronics, music theatre, and multimedia.

After two decades as a university professor of composition and related subjects, Carmona decided to devote himself more fully to composition and performance. During the pandemic years, he returned to the piano as a central instrument. Sueños (Dreams), his debut solo piano album, recorded on a grand piano in Braunschweig, Germany, marks this return.

Alongside his piano work, Carmona composes for film, documentary, and audiovisual projects. His recent work includes music for Köln Tracks – La Légende du Köln Concert, a documentary directed by Vincent Duceau. Across these different contexts, his music combines cinematic depth, lyrical writing, rhythmic drive, subtle or intense electronic textures, and a narrative approach to form.

Carmona also maintains a parallel literary practice, where text and sound intersect naturally and inform his sense of rhythm, structure, memory, and perspective.
